Screen printing is one of the oldest printing techniques in textile finishing.

A special copying process is used to create a stencil from a fine-mesh screen. In this screen, the areas with the motif are permeable to color and the remaining areas are opaque. The stencil is stretched over a frame and clamped into a screen printing carousel, then placed on the textile and the color is drawn over the stencil using a rubber squeegee. The printed textile is then dried in a dryer for several minutes.

Discharge screen printing is a bleaching process. An additive is added to water-based screen printing ink, which bleaches the textile to its natural color during the drying process. Color pigments can also be added to the additive. This makes it possible to recolor the textile fabric at the same time. The bleaching process means that the textiles remain breathable at the printing point and are very wash-resistant.

What is water-based screen printing?

Other components are solvent-based in order to shorten the time and heat required during the drying process and to enable better processing and durability of the print. The paint itself is specially mixed for each job. Water-based paints are more fluid than other paints and therefore absorb more into the material on light-colored textiles. The water-based paint that we use has been awarded the OEKO-TEX - Eco Passport and the GOTS certificate.

Our finishing takes place in beautiful Nuremberg.
